The World's Oldest Motorcycle Manufacturer

Its been more than a century since motorcycles first came to existence and over the years they have really changed a lot from long distance tourers to off-roading dirt bikes. But today its not about the types of bike but a manufacturer which has withstand the flow of time and is still in existence.



You guys already know about the manufacturer and many may not be surprised by this. 
Royal Enfield, yes thats the name. 

Royal Enfield, as it is known today, is an Indian motorcycle manufacturing company based in Chennai. Known for its rich heritage and history, Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle brand to be in continuous production, with the first motorcycle manufactured in 1901.


Originally a British motorcycle company first established in 1893, which later on became the indigenous Madras Motors in 1955. In 1990, Royal Enfield collaborated with the Eicher Group, an automotive company in India and merged with it in 1994. Royal Enfield has created the mid-size motorcycle segment in India with its unique and distinctive modern classic bikes. With its new manufacturing base in Chennai, India and an upcoming new product development and research center in the UK, the bike manufacturer is able to grow its production rapidly against a surge in demand for Royal Enfield bikes.




Royal Enfield motorcycles include 350cc bikes as well as 500cc bikes and a 535cc café racer model. The Royal Enfield product line-up includes the Bullet 350, Bullet 500, Classic 350 & Classic 500, Thunderbird 350, Thunderbird 500 and the Continental GT 535cc café racer. Royal Enfield also exports motorcycles to over 50 countries across the world including the USA, Japan, UK, several European and Latin American countries, as well as the Middle East and other countries of South Asia.


And one more fact is the Royal Enfield Bullet is one of the oldest motorcycles to be manufactured till date.
