iv) Honda working on a CBR 350RR
We’ve all been updated that Honda will reveal a supersport quarter-litre motorcycle later this month. Dubbed as the CBR250RR, this motorcycle will primarily be focused on the Asian market. Almost every top manufacturer has a 250cc offering in these markets but for Europe, all manufacturers have an upsized 300cc-350cc class model.
On similar lines, a recent update on the internet reveals that Honda will also launch a 350cc CBR350RR. As the name suggests, this motorcycle will have a sporty riding position compared to the Yamaha YZF-R3 & Kawasaki Ninja 300.
Powering the bike will be a 350cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, twin-cylinder motor producing well over 40 BHP of power matched to a 6-speed gearbox. Honda will surely add C-ABS on this motorcycle, considering it is available on the CBR250R as well.

- A range of dynamic new colour schemes.
vi) 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R Revealed
Kawasaki has revealed the updated 2016 Ninja ZX-14R / ZZR1400 sports tourer and will go on sale globally very soon. Globally renowned as the reference machine for high mileage performance motorcycling, the ZZR1400 and ZZR1400 Performance Sport models have been refined even further, via a host of engine and chassis modifications.
Key to the ZZR1400 legend is its class leading power and torque characteristics, giving the machine wide versatility, from relaxed everyday riding to hypersport thrills. Utilising new settings in the ECU and a revised evaporative and exhaust system, the bike meets the latest Euro4 emission regulations without any drop in the power figures of this 1,441cc machine – 200PS.
Ensuring the fast rising speed and rpm readings stay in focus, a new instrument cluster features high-visibility dials and LCD displays using a dot-pattern background, plus black/white interchangeable displays for easy reading in both day and night time.
The already high-spec Performance Sport model receives further upgrades which would not look out of place on the World Superbike winning Ninja ZX-10R. Most obvious are the new Brembo M50 monobloc brake calipers, which combined with a Brembo radial-pump master cylinder and stainless steel brake lines, supply ultimate stopping power. The model also features an Öhlins TTX39 rear shock absorber with settings unique to the ZZR1400, plus Akrapovic silencers; a partnership forged from Kawasaki’s all-conquering World Superbike effort.
The new ZZR1400 models stay loyal to the machine’s substantial fan base, whilst taking the ZZR riding experience a step further.’
vii) Kawasaki reveals 2016 Vulcan S cafe
The Japanese manufacturer has now revealed the 2016 Vulcan S Cafe which is nothing but a cosmetic update.
- Three-tone paint
- Signature tank badging
- Dark-tinted windshield deflector
Powering the bike is a 650cc, 4-stroke, 2-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled motor producing 63 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox.
Japanese sources have come up with a rendering image which is rumoured to be the next-generation Hayabusa.
The rendering image looks inspired by the concept GSX which was revealed a couple of months back. The styling overall looks a bit sleeker & looses the bulk at the front which the Hayabusa carried for quite a few years. However, the layout of the headlamp & turn indicators on the front fairing is reminiscent of previous Hayabusa models along with the air ducts at the front.
Quite a few styling changes are expected, but the Hayabusa will continue to look like a big sports tourer. With the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R getting updates quite frequently, Suzuki had to respond with a new Busa. What’s interesting is that the new Hayabusa is expected to be powered by an all-new 1,500cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke petrol motor. This motor is not only larger in capacity compared to the Kawasaki ZX-14R, but is also expected to be more powerful.
Let’s hope that this new model is revealed at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.
ix) Suzuki GSX-R 250 Rendered
Another rendering image has emerged on the internet claiming that what you see could be the production-spec Suzuki Gixxer / GSX-R 250.
Suzuki had already confirmed that they are working on a bigger 250cc model. This bike is being developed by Suzuki in Japan.
The most important bit of news here is that powering this GSX-R250 would be a 250cc, parallel twin-cylinder petrol motor. ABS could be a possibility.
With this, Suzuki is targeting the Yamaha YZF-R3 & Kawasaki Ninja 300.
The rendering image hints that the Gixxer / GSX-R 250 will have a riding position similar to the Ninja 300, which is a bit relaxed and not too committed.
X) New Ninja 300 coming in 2016
Rendering images emerging on the internet hint that Kawasaki might introduce a new Ninja 300 in 2016.
As seen in this rendering image, the changes to the Ninja 300 are:
- Sharper headlamp & front fairing
- New side fairing
- Underbelly exhaust
- Revised rear panel
- New tail tidy
There are no details available yet if the chassis and engines will see any change. However, we do expect a few tweaks to the 300cc motor, to churn out equal or more power compared to the Yamaha YZF-R3.
The handlebar remains to be raised higher, to continue with the relaxed riding position.
This new model could be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show or EICMA in Milan.
xi) End of the Honda Fireblade (Cbr 1000RR)
Honda could pull the plug off the popular Fireblade in due course of time.
The CBR1000RR continues to remain on sale at the moment, but sources on the internet claim that there are no development plans beyond 2017.
The current CBR1000RR is powered by a 999cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 16-valve, DOHC, inline-4 cylinder petrol motor producing 131 kW of power and 112 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Fireblade could be replaced by a cheaper version of the RC213V-S. When ready, this all-new V4 1,000cc superbike will slot in above the Fireblade in the pricing department and pick up a fight against the new Yamaha YZF-1 & the BMW S1000RR.
